Happy Father's Day! This morning the girls ran around singing Happy Father's Day to you, as you can imagine, to the tune of Happy Birthday. Very unique. They love to sing, and seem to think there should be a song for every occassion, even if they have to create their own. Rebekah made her dad a candy holder out of popsicle sticks, and even filled it with candy, although I think she's eaten most of it. They also gave papa a Roughrider jacket and a World Cup book.
This week we had rain, rain, and more rain. Part of the number one highway is shut down because it's impassable. And some of my plants are starting to die because they've had so much water. However, this weekend, it's been sunny and warm!
This week was a busy one. Rebekah had two separate birthday parties to attend. She was supposed to have a penny carnival at her school on Friday, but it was rained out. We had soccer Thursday night. And the highlight of this week was Rebekah losing her second tooth!
Yesterday we drove to Swift Current to take part in the Windscape Kite Festival. The girls had a great time! They had their faces painted. Rebekah was a fairy princess, and Chloe had her face painted like a butterfly. They were able to make their own kites, dig for treasure in the mystery sand pile, played with bubbles, and many other things. No excursion in Saskatchewan would be complete without a hay bale maze, which, I think, was Chloe's favourite.

We were able to watch many celebrity kite flyers. People come from all over North America to fly their kites. There were also a number of novelty kites. One was an enormous scuba diver and fish. There was also a gecko. It was really incredible to see.
We've basically planned our adventures for the summer. We're going to do the same as last year, and have little "mini vacations" each weekend. Although we do plan to go away for a couple weekends, once in July to Kenosee, and once in August, to Saskatoon.
This next week is the last week of school. I have final exams this week, and next Monday, which is the last day of school for students. Our last day, as teachers, is Tuesday the 29th. So there are a million little details that need to be attended to before then. This is also the last week of my Master's class. I'll also be writing my final this week. And our grad ceremony is this week on Thursday. But the end is in sight!!
